The South Carolina Peach Festival. Over the 7 years of living in South Carolina, I have heard over and over how wonderful the peach festival is. So, this year I decided to go. Al wasnt fond of this type of thing (however he mellowed in the last couple years towards them). It was crowded. At one point, I was standing in the middle of the walkway, thinking about what direction to start moving. Coming towards me was a group of 3-4 college-agish girls and a couple of guys. Mind you, I was standing still. One of the girls started staring at me, and coming straight towards me. Not wanting to bump into anyone, I stayed put. (when I say it was crowded, it was Packed!) This girl wanted me to move out of her way, instead of the group condensing a little in order to pass by. This little chickie-babe knocked into me! On Purpose! Then she said to me watch where youre going Miraculously, I did not respond. I enjoyed the craft booths, had a little to eat, listened to some music, and decided to start on my way back. I was already on the side of the sidewalk, when another young group came my way. (maybe the same one? I really dont know). I moved over just a bit (they werent budging in order to pass by), and stepped off the side of the sidewalk. It was uneven, and I twisted my left ankle and landed on my right knee. The group never stopped, never did a blooming thing. A young man came over to help me up. He was such a sweetie! As I continued walking, the knee hurt more and more, so I looked down, and it was bleeding pretty good. Durn-more than just a scrape. There was a food booth nearby, and I asked for a couple of paper towels. What a wonderful group of people! They gave me a chair to sit in, and water to rinse the knee, and napkins and an ice pack, and one of them went over to the EMT van, so I got my knee bandaged. All in all, with the exception of just a few bad apples, the day was enjoyable, I got to see the best side of people, and I bought a jar of some really GOOD peach salsa! Now, I think I will go out and start the grill, and have myself a nice supper and watch a good movie.
