The Sovereignty of God For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him- Colossians 1:16 (Amplified Bible).God is the creator of His Kingdom, everything in His Kingdom, be it living and non-living; visible or invisible, was created by Him. Every system- political, economic, social etc was created by God for His own purpose. All levels of power and authorities; thrones and dominions were all created by God, and subject to His supreme and sovereign authority. “And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”- Colossians 1:18 (New International Version) All things exist by Him and for Him. He is the source of all the resources in this world, be it human or material; hidden or open, and He direct them wherever He desires- He installs kings and removes kings; He promotes one and demotes the other; He makes rich and He makes poor.“No one can receive anything unless God gives it from heaven.- John 3:27 (New Living Translation) We are in His Kingdom by His goodwill. We are who we are by Him, and we have what we have only because He chose to give them to us. Therefore our allegiance must be to the King over His Kingdom- the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He alone must we seek to please at all times, we must live in obedience to His word and offer our lives as a living sacrifice unto Him. If God be for us, who can be against us?- Romans 8:31 (King James Version) We must have a reverential fear for Him. We must desire and long for His presence at all times. What He does not make us, we cannot be; and what He does not give us, we cannot have. If He does not support us, we cannot stand; but while we have His support, all things will work in our favour. We will be unstoppable, we will be unconquerable; we will be a success and fulfil the great and enviable destiny that He has for us. Let us therefore live to be at peace with Him and serve Him, and The Lord-our King will uphold, elevate and establish us. AMEN.
