†The Spare Tire †But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. 2 Chronicles 15:3–4 NIV We were happily driving towards our destination when I felt the car gradually getting lower on one side and the steering became sluggish. I pulled over to the side of the road, got out, and sure enough we had a flat tire. It was the first time that I had thought of the spare tire in a long time. Fortunately it was fine and soon we were on the road again. Israel would slide away from God and then when in distress, turn back to Him. Only to slide away once again when things were going well. Sometimes when things are going well for us, we tend to forget about God. We treat Him as a spare tire that is there when we need Him, but He is not for everyday use. Don’t pray to the Lord only when you are in distress. Involve the Lord in your life everyday, build a relationship, especially when things are going well for you. He may still answer you, but you rob yourself of the greatest experience on earth by treating God Almighty like a spare tire
