The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach Deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them who are bruised, To preach the acceptable Year of the Lord. Luke 4: 18-19 Preachers, teachers, singers, Believers need the anointing! The Anointing of the Holy Spirit is simply the Presence of God on a person to enable that person to preach, teach, sing, pray, witness, etc. All Believers can be and should be anointed by the Holy Spirit to carry out the task at hand, whatever that might be. Jesus said, "And I will pray to the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever." (Jn. 14:16) As God, Jesus did not need the Anointing. As man, He most definitely did need the Anointing (the help) of the Holy Spirit. If He, the Lord of Glory, the Son of the Living God, the Saviour of man, needed the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, we definitely need it!
