The Spiritual Wisdom of God Ephesians 1: 16- 23 Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which he worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principalities and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. 1- That God may give you Wisdom: Wisdom is simply understanding, insight and knowledge of the things of God. The clear perception of the possibilities of God. The ability to judge and act accordingly to Gods directives is the most valuable assets of wisdom. 2- Proverbs 1: 5 a wise man will hear and increase in knowledge. 3- Proverbs 1:7 the fear of the Lord is the beginning or the principle part of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction. 4- Wisdom is available to everyone, but the price is high. 5- Wisdom originates from God, not self and comes by attention to instruction. 6- Wisdom and righteousness go together, it is good to be wise and it is wise to be good. 7- The simple, the fool, the lazy, the ignorant, the proud, the sinful are never to be admired. 1 Corinthians 1:24 Jesus is the wisdom of God and in verse 30 but of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. 8- Most don’t pay attention to what God says and they have no interest in God’s word. They do not have any mental focus or are serious when it comes to the things of God. But when it comes to the things that we want to do we sure will find the time and the resources to accomplish what we want. Wisdom comes with a price and we have to have the right mind. We have to let this mind that was in Christ Jesus also be in you. Reading your bible just like you read a newspaper is not going to be enough we have to concentrate and take notice and have our attention on what God is speaking to us through His word. 9- One of the first things is that we have to do is get rid of our pride and say I want Gods instruction in my life. We cannot as believers make in this world without instructions from God. Instruction is a spoken or written statement or command of what must be done. God‘s instructions have been delivered formally to us with the official authority as a command. We have been given our information that is contained in God’s word and we need to as believers carry out the directives that Jesus has commanded us to do. In John 15: 1- 8 we read that Jesus says that I am the vine, and My Father is the vinedresser Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. If anyone does not abide in me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this my Father is glorified that you bear much fruit; so you will be my disciples. Disciple is one who is a learner and one who takes on the nature and character of His teacher.
