The Sports Tourism Partner Program luncheon was held on June 18, 2014 in recognition of the business partners and our local sports associations who assist in the delivery of higher profile state, national & international events the Shoalhaven hosts through Council. The Sports Tourism Partner Program delivered a total of 29 sports events in 2013/2014. The economic value of these events added over $9.2 million into the Shoalhaven economy in 2013/2014. Event competitors and accompanying visitors have totalled over 30,000 people to the area. Sports tourism visitors spent an estimated 45,000 room nights in the Shoalhaven. Since launch of the Shoalhaven Sports Tourism / Events Program in 2012, an estimated $16 million in economic activity has been secured.
