The Sri Lankan president fit more neatly with Abbotts Neo Nazi philosophy. The LNP are using the Godwin rule to silence reference to Nazi history because such use prevents people from seeing the clues of behaviour and attitude which show history is repeating itself. The Five voices of the Intelligence communities of Australia, UK, USA, NZ and Canada decided to stop seeking Nazi war criminals in 1948. Instead the Cold war began and the remaining Nazis in their millions were accepted as displaced persons or refugees into the west to fight communism as Bob Menzies claimed, because they are good anti-communists. Employed by governments in north and south America, South Africa and Australia, these people were used to control the left and unions and the legacy changed the nature of Western politics to the right wing intolerance today. The Godwin rule is a way to stifle examination of ideas and behaviour shows we are moving further to the right. The Third Reich did not die, it just went underground! Tony Abbott was preselected by the “uglies faction“of the liberal party. The same right wing faction descended from the Nazis brought into this country by ASIO to fight communism for Menzies. The rotten corruption my father fought in North Africa at Tobruk who found a home in the Liberal party, they flourished under Menzies protection and almost drove John Brogden to suicide they are the force behind Tony Abbott and John Howard’s refugee policies. Howard established border protection as a metric for “good governance” and Me -Too-ism trapped, first Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard into allowing themselves to use this as a benchmark of performance. This has led the Parliament to ignore the 30,000 students last year who were “identified” requiring to answer Non Conformance Notices made out to those ‘Hair dressers and Accountant students ‘ who should be deported for failing or not completing their studies as required by law. The Immigration Department has not found one person to deport, because they have disappeared into the community. The Parliament has ignored the Visa racket operating out of the Bureaucracy, where blank genuine Australian visas are trafficked to people smugglers who arrange papers for refugees to ‘Jump the queue’ and fly in as tourists and disappear again into the community The real smugglers are among our public servants by design or neglect. The truth is Border protection was rejected by the electorate in 2007 and Rudd did not grasp the nettle, he just tried to soften the heartless policy that required all souls to be in the water before a rescue is begun. The simple solution is to Honour our obligation under the Refugee Convention and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Australia is one of ten countries who have signed up to take a quota of refugees over and above those that present spontaneously at our borders seeking asylum and holding a firmly held belief they are fleeing from persecution. It is simple really we either Honour the pledge of our fathers and their bid to hold the Nazis at bay, or we become Nazis under the leadership of a mad dog such as Abbott and his Cohort. Abbott’s rejection of the electorates verdict in 2007 and again in 2010 is not just a slap in the face to the majority of the electorate. It is a direct attack on Democracy itself and a torch for the right wing to grasp and use to drive out such weak kneed ideas of citizens rights against the state like freedom of speech and a respect for our fellow man and human dignity. Every one of us and those Asylum Seekers Have: The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation; The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation; The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living; The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad; The right of every family to a decent home; The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health; The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment; The right to a good education.
