The Stars will be hosting the Blackhawks tonight @7:30pm! What to expect: As crazy as it may sound, the Stars sit at the bottom of the Central whereas the Hawks are at the top. The Stars depth lines really ignited on Wednesdays 6-3 win vs the Ducks and helped in the 5 goals scored in the 3rd. Despite losing the last game played against the Hawks by a score of 5-2, the Stars showed what they can do when all lines are doing what they have to do. Expect to see the 3rd and 4th lines get more ice time than usual. Key Contributors: Hawks: Patrick Kane has been on fire. He leads the team in 15 goals and is on a 12 point scoring streak. Considering he got a goal in the last game vs Dallas, hes going to be a threat to be dealt with. Stars: Cody Eakin seems to be the player who can a goal or assist whenever the top line may be lacking in production. He has 6 goals and 8 assists this year which is very good for someone who sees the 3rd and even 4th line a lot. As mentioned earlier, the depth line is expected to get more ice time than usual. Can Eakin continue to rack up points because of this? Players to look out for during the game: Hawks: Be on the look out for Kris Versteeg. Even though Marcus Kruger only has 11 points (3G 8A), Versteeg has been given less pressure to perform since hes not on 1st line like he was in Florida. Versteeg has been producing well ever since rejoining the Hawks. Stars: Despite Eakin being on a point streak, Nichushkin is the one to watch. Hes been playing so well lately but hasnt been getting any goals since he only has 2 goals so far and 6 assists. Nichushkin is a bomb ready to explode. This game could be the one where Nichushkin starts to get points.
