The State of Nigeria Affecting Millions of Youths and Their Academic Studies (Pursue) You are tasty to study-- Total Black Out. You have a lot of Academical work to do-Total Black Out. You want to power your System to have access to your e-textbook and do some Online Research- Total Black Out. This is the fate of we the Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. Especially most of the students leaving in Ifite-Awka axis off campus. I am one of those students that dont joke with Night Studies. I can take a three hours nap in the afternoon or evening so as to be able to be fit and read all through the night. My typical person can be awake till day break and be fit for the following day activities. Night i believe is the best time to carry out your studies when every part of the society is calm and quite. However the state of this country is quite unfortunate that you can imagine yourself in total darkness through out the day. You can imagine what it feels like staying close to 72hrs without any atom of light, that is Nigeria for you. The heat is on and all over me because i can feel it more couple with the insecurity in the land. I never realize what my fellow students are going through until my power generating set was stolen. As one of those students with the privilege of owing a power generating state with the believe that immediately the Power Holders, hold the power you will generate power through your Power Generator for your utilization. The insecurity in Nigeria led to my Power Generator being stolen. It was quite painful though to lost such precious property to thief(ves). But now i came to realize what it means and how it feels for Power Holders to hold their light in Ifite Awka Anambra State Nigeria. Many are frustrated from doing their studies at their room thereby exposing their system to cold and insect bite to read all through the night at the University square and sleep on the Form sit to the detriment of their health. That is the current position of Nigeria Education system! This kept me wondering, of what type of country are we leaving on? Imagine were there is no light close to 72hrs. An illustration is Ifite Awka Unizik off-campus students area, it was funny though pathetic how my very good friend Chilee Paschal Onyejelam put a call to me tonight in anticipation that i powered my Generator so to come over to my crib and do his studies. The tune in his voice was that of a helpless Nigerian eager to study his books and do some research, but due to the harshness of the state of the Nation. His voice was broken, how he was not comfortable with the hot environment and need to cool off, i disappointed him by informing him that my power gen was stolen. It was a bitter pill to swallow and unfortunate his own Power Gen is faulty. Thus, many students are frustrated academically to study because of the total black out, you can imagine how alert we the students are always upon hearing the sound of Power Generator of your neighbour room, barbing salon, Video center or shops scampering to go and charge your fone and reading lantern , only for you to reach their, you will be told that space don full or better still you go and borrow or get and extension socket to charge your phone and lantern with your eagle eyes on it before you look sideways you say bye bye to your gadgets or better still tell someone to look after it. It is painful! it is touching! the state of the nation can psychologically cause revolution because indirectly we are being deprived of our right to Education, even the lantern you recharged to read with, cannot even last more than one hour! Your E-books in your system remain inaccessible until you charge your system! Where is the light? What have we done to deserve this torture just to be educated? Are we poor? What have we done that our money will be siphoned and yet we are deprived off constant electricity? what is our offence to the government? Imagine sleeping through out this evening just to wake in anticipation of light to use and read my books and none, even your rechargeable lantern is going dead! For the past two days charging it with Power Gen! The hot weather with the heat is very wicked! You cannot sleep comfortable to on your AC or Fan but soak your bed with sweat! Every year they will tell us they are transforming Nigeria. We have been hearing Vision 2000 (millienium year) to Vision 2010 to Vision 2015 and now Vision 2020! Latest is Transformational Agenda, for the past 6yrs!! For how long shall we continue to suffer under deceit? The youths are the most affected, soon before our 30s we all wills start wearing glasses because of the pain our organ of sight went through in terms of studying with dull light so as to make both ends meet academically. Now you ask your fellow Nigerian youths studying abroad: My brother Chinedu Nice have you ever witness total power black out in Cyprus? Little sister Ezinwanne Sonia what of small Ghana our neighbor, have you ever witness One hour black out? My brother Oguchukwu hope there is black out at United Arab Emirate? JohnPromise Umeozuru how many times have they taken light at Cardiff? Aloysius Val Aloyhills i hope you always witness power failure at Phillipine? Johnking Dubem have you witness power failure at least 30mins? Gen Obiora Ezeudemba, at Ukraine i hope they normally take light? Rotr Obiagha Alex Ubaka they don take light for South Africa? Now here in Nigeria we can stay for one week without Light! That is why we are far developed! Just in the off campus here in Awka we have stayed 96hrs without light! Yes! And we are still bouncing in the name of studying, the Power Holders only give us light in the night and when you wake up in the morning before you finish brushing you teeth the POWER HOLDERS will hold back their light. This is Nigeria where the poor masses have been subjected to suffering. This is Nigeria where the youths are subjected to harsh condition when it comes to acquiring Education. The spirit is willing to, but the frustration is stronger. Fellow Youths the fate of Nigeria is something we have to rise up and challenge positively tell them no and enough is enough. I better stop writing before my phone will absolutely go dead looking at the percentage, let me save if for tomorrow because i dont have strength to search for where to charge my phone. #ManaOgaAadiMma WELCOME TO NIGERIA THE LAND OF TOTAL POWER BLACK OUT. #Change.
