The Sun has become a bit less active in the past 24 hours with only an occasional C-class flare. The sunspot groups on the disk are not very complex at the moment but regions 2130 and 2132 do have a bit of magnetic mixing within them. Solar activity will likely be low today but an M-class event can not be excluded. Perhaps the most interesting feature on the earth-facing solar disk right now is a very large filament channel which is now located near the center of the earth-facing disk. The filament can be seen in the attached video from NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO). It is one of the largest filaments that we have seen in a while and if it manages to erupt in the next 48 hours we might see a decent earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection from it.
