The Supreme Court verdict of August 29, while failing to really - TopicsExpress

The Supreme Court verdict of August 29, while failing to really address the problems of electoral malfeasance in Ghana has however guaranteed three key things: 1. That a Presiding Officer who fails to sign a pink sheet shall in the best case have his face rearranged, and in the worst case... well, he might not be alive to read the rest so Ill move on. 2. That the police will assume an extremely neutral stance when battle-clad bony general secretaries of parties surround the electoral commission demanding immediate announcements of presidential results. 3. That justice will only be possible when it is meted out on erring electoral officials by a mob, whether or not with cola-stained teeth, never mind that pink sheets can be presented later to a mean-faced panel of judges in the Supreme Court. 4. That we have no more ensured the sacredness of ballots sheets now than when our democracy began.
