The Sweeney (British - 2012) - Jack Regan is the lead detective of the Sweeney, a special flying squad that handles the difficult cases in London. When Jacks old school methods lead to charges of police brutality an investigator threatens to shut down the Sweeney. Can Jack continue to solve crimes by taking the law into his own hands? This is a film version of a legendary British show that ran during the 1970s. However, the screenplay goes too far by depicting the police committing violent acts that go beyond the pale. The cast is solid, with a number of well known actors in the cast, but Ray Winstone is miscast as Jack Regan and Damian Lewis is wasted in his role. I dont recommend this film. (Go watch the first season of the television show instead!)
