The Syrian President Bashar Assad congratulated his Iranian counterpart President Hassan Rouhani of Iran and the friendly Iranian people on the agreement clinched in Geneva between Iran and P5+1 Rouhani-Assadcountries on the Iranian nuclear file. During a phone call with President Rouhani on Wednesday, President Assad said the success of the Iranian diplomacy in reaching the agreement derived from the steadfastness of the Iranian people, their commitment to their rights and the unswerving stance of the Iranian leadership based on preserving Irans sovereignty and independent decision. The Syrian president said the achievement comes to enshrine the right of developing countries in acquiring peaceful nuclear energy, adding that the achievement bolsters Irans regional and international position. President Assad saw that Irans achievement will reflect on Syria due to the strategic relation between the two countries. President Rouhani, for his part, reaffirmed Irans standing by Syria in its war against terrorism , hoping that peace would prevail all over Syria.
