The Tempest is thought to be the last play Shakespeare wrote alone. It was the last Shakespeare play I performed in college. It is now perhaps the last play I will direct for the always inspiring American Shakespeare Center Theatre Camp (thats YCTC if youre old school!). I cant help but think of the pageants faded and the incredible young actors with whom I have had the pleasure to work over the years. You taught me as much as I ever taught you. Far too many to tag all of you but a big thanks to Sara Holdren, Lisa Alexandra, Gregory Collins, and the cast of Othello, Megan Tusing and the cast of Alls Well That Ends Well, Rebecca Speas, Kimberly Newton, Matthew Minnicino, Charlie Irving, Jack Read and the cast of 2 Henry IV, Sally Nobinger, Margaret Clark, Jessie Cohen, Charles Eckman, Lydia Freesen, Emma Lo, Becca Meyer and the cast of The Winters Tale, and also to Tom DuMontier, Doreen Bechtol, Amanda McRaven and the rest of the great staff from over the years. Time to break the staff, bury the book, and say goodbye to the island. I shall miss thee.
