The Texas Education Agency (Agency) continues conversations with the United States Department of Education (USDE) requesting to waive specific provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by P.L. 107-110 No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. Due to the ongoing negotiations, school districts will not be required to implement current Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)-related School Improvement Program (SIP) requirements prior to the start of school year 2013-2014. This delay in implementation is a temporary suspension pending the outcome of the continuing waiver negotiations. bit.ly/1ckFS4b
