The Textile hub of Surat was mesmerized by the ultimate fashion extravaganza at Indzyn 2014. The Day one of this two days fashion weekend witnessed some of the best bridal couture designed by emerging talents across India. The show opened with contemporary bridal wear by designer Gurpreet Kaur inspired by vintage bird cages and concept of freedom. Fusion silhouettes and unusual color contrast focused her premium line of modern designs for experimental bride. Alien by Zubba design presented a quirky tribal-esque collection designed by Gopal and Rashmikant. Each look was a regal Melange of exquisite textiles merged in experimental paneling with innovative pattern making. Another young talent, Pranjal Kadkade celebrated the ethnic nuances of southern India in her all silk diffusion line of festive tunics and funky separates. Traditional jewels and temple motifs were delicately embroidered in antique zardozi injecting the right bling quotient. Celebrating the classic Indian Bridal needs, we have designers Nimita and Vishal showcasing an elegant lineup of heavy duty bridal ensembles with variety of embroideries and splash of vibrant colors. Joining the brigade of this ethnic opulence was “shoubhagya” by Jesal Vora featuring contemporary trousseau with rustic charm of bygone grandeur. Complimenting the princely grandeur, we witness 2 exclusive festive menswear collection. SFW by Seema Mehta showcased highly embellished vintage classics of festive bandhgala and Sherwani. Keeping the needs of experimental taste of modern grooms, Rajiv and Pooja Jha for “Abhivani” presented a refreshing line of colorful & layered ensembles for miscellaneous wedding function. Seasoned designer Shraddha Vora showcased her festive collection of light and vivacious traditional wear in her signature color blocking and plays of textiles. Whereas, designer C Singh (Deepak Collections) presented an all gold collection of fusion gowns constructed from innovative embroidered fabrics and international cuts with desi soul. Renowned Jeweler Preeti Bhatia of awesome sparkler partnered this collection with her mindboggling diamond studded masterpieces. Surat Based designer Manish Reshamwala showcased a stunning lineup of Neo-ethnic designs adorned with classic abla work in its most contemporary version on jackets, skirts and skinny pants. Also, Akash sarees presented an heavily adorned line of bridal designs with modern chutzpah with traditional bend. Staying away from the sea of bling was designer Paayal shah,whose collection – Shakuntala stole the thunder with its simplistic drapes and innovative construction. Perfectly styled with Phooloka ghena transformed this all saffron collection apt for Mehndi and Haldic ceremony. Soie by Ginza closed the day one with collections of cocktail gowns in classic black and muted gold. Tone on tone textural embroideries and international styling formed the foundation of this festive diffusion line of evening wear. The finale line-up showcased a premium collection of their debut Indian line of fusion designs. Day 2 was a sheer exuberance of the Manish Malhotra show. The Badshah of Bollywood in his first ever Gujarat show showcased a mix of eclectic styles in offbeat shades of plum, deep maroon, dusty pink, slate and pewter. Dazzled with signature borders in traditional mirror work and zardosi,the collection focused on rich textiles and clean cuts. Super model turned actors Freddy Daruwala and Kriti Sannon strutted the runway closing the euphoric event of Indyzn 2014. Indyzn bought best of festive styles to the land of fashion opportunities.Both the stall and the runway designers with their unique offerings transformed Surats snooze Sunday into a happening fashion weekend!
