The Thames Art Gallery is hosting a drawing workshop in partnership with Prosperity Roundtable on Tuesday, February 5, 2014 from 1-4pm. This is a free workshop, all materials are supplied and will be instructed by local artist T.J Brown. T.J is completing his Bachelor of Fine Art degree at the University of Western Ontario. Born and raised in Chatham-Kent T.J discovered his love of art at age 2 when he grabbed a permanent marker and started drawing on everything inside his parents apartment, as his dad slept on the couch. He has been drawing ever since. T.J specializes in capturing realism with charcoal drawings. Some of his favourite subjects to draw are black historical figures, and athletes. Currently working at the Chatham-Kent Black Mecca Museum, he has had the good fortune to be included in a few gallery shows this year and a half, including, A Collection of Black Artists and Prosperity Roundtables Breaking Barriers Art Exhibition in March 2013.
