“The Third One” By Alan Gant If you are the third in your family You were probably born late in May Conceived when your parents were slaughtered On their annual beach holiday Or maybe your birthday’s September Nine months after Christmas, no doubt So maybe your Daddy’s your Daddy Or some guy, when your Daddy passed out That’s why you don’t feel important Because you weren’t even planned You’re just one more strain on resources A mistake, when your parents were canned Yes you are the cause of their misery The reason they still have no life The source of all marital problems Why they can’t be husband and wife But don’t be despairing or stressful And don’t think of running away Cos you can take every last penny And inherit their household one day Then you can get pissed up at Christmas And conceive your own children that way But don’t turn your back on the third ones Cos they’ll come for payback some day
