The Toy Library Center in Rockland is again holding the Polar Express Train Ride, a journey from Rockland to the North Pole (Thomaston). Children of all ages enjoy this magical ride, clad in their favorite pajamas listening to a reading of the Polar Express story by a conductor while on the way to the North Pole. Once the train reaches the North Pole, riders are entertained by outdoor views of elves dancing and making toys at Santas Workshop. They wait for a special visit from Santa himself handing out silver bells to all who believe. The return trip is filled with cookies, musical entertainment and sing-a-longs. Polar Express Train Rides are Dec. 4 and Dec. 5, leaving from the Maine Eastern Railroad Station in Rockland at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Cost: $18 per ticket through Nov. 31, and $20 per ticket afterward; children under 2 are free. Tickets available at Planet Toys, The Toy Library Center and the ticket window at the Eastern Maine Railroad station by calling 866-637-2457 or 596-6725. FMI: 691-6321 for more information.
