The Treadmill. Can they be beneficial for your dog? A treadmill for dogs in my opinion can be beneficial for you the pet owner if they are used in-addition to daily routine exercise and walks. A lot of behavioral problem that pet owners face on a daily bases with there dogs can almost always be linked back to the dog not being provided enough daily exercise. The list of behavioral problems is unlimited in dogs that lack daily exercise. A dog that is confined to a small area for hours and hours in a days time can become very stressed, bored, and frustrated. Once the anxiety gets the best of the him, then he starts to practice bad behavior. Sometimes this acting out can result in destruction of property, digging up the yard, and the list goes on and on and on. Treadmills should never be used as a substitute for daily outside walk, however as I stated in the video if your dog still has a lot of build up energy after the pack walk then the use of the treadmill can be beneficial to your dog. Pet owners who may have medical limitations that prevent them from walking long distances with there dogs can benefit from a treadmill also. If you start providing enough daily exercise for your dogs, I think you will see a lot of what is described as bad behavior simply correct itself. The On Command Canine Training Center Team.
