The Trib cannot live on 30% of the revenue. No Trib, No Swallow. Utah becomes a one newspaper monopoly---that would be an unmitigated disaster. Sign the petition (savethetribune) as, outrageously, the D. News wants special antitrust protections from Washington, even after they put their editorial competition out of business. Reminds me of the kid who murdered his parents and then pleaded with the judge to go easy on him--because he is an orphan. The evil genius behind this is a former Harvard professor, Clark Gilbert. He heads up the D News and he simply is not telling the truth as he secretly negotiated with the New York Hedge Fund that owns the Trib. The hedggies took millions from the D News and the D News got a dying Trib...good for both of them-- but awful for the citizens of Utah. Remember, the SL Trib currently has more circulation than the Deseret news!
