The Truth About Job Security The other day a close friend of mine came to me and told me he’s quitting his job. He is one of those I approached in the past to help me with my home base business but showed no interest in what I do. He told me that he got entangled with office politics and he feels he got himself into a quicksand. Like politics in the real world you can not do away with ambitious people eagerly salivating over your position. That is what happened to my friend, he worked for the company for the last 15 years, trained a lot of people to become efficient workers and here comes one he trained so well and became interested in his position. Now he is interested in what I do and begun to realized that he has wasted a lot of time in his job. He regrets that had he listened to me he would be better off. I told him he’s not at fault and it’s never too late. Col. Sanders started KFC with 100 dollars in hand at the age of 62(?) and he made it. At age 65 he was a millionaire. Of course you can never be sure to keep your job forever, Time changes, new technology replaces old ones. Years ago we used to take pictures using cameras with films, then came digital cameras and the film industry was wiped out. Before the cellular phone technology business has to dole out a lot of cash and wait a long time to have a telephone line installed .The beeper was a status symbol then and so were band radios. Telegraph companies closed down and the postal service has lost a lot of clients. Where are the workers now? Those who used to work for companies which have closed. Lucky for those below 40 but those over forty are too old for new employment and there are younger candidates for the position they seek.. Perhaps some of them are in some call centers for call center employ even seniors. Reading the book “Quitting the Rat Race” made me consider my position. With advances in technology I fear that doctors might one day become irrelevant. There are a number of people who consult the internet for their illness and get their medicine either over the counter or in their back yard. So I filed for an early retirement and went into business. I put up my private practice and build a network marketing business. For sometime I’ve been involved in MLM as a lecturer on product knowledge and the advantages of natural medicine and other health issues. To minimize my living expenses I sold my car and bought a motorcycle which consumes less gas, left the city and lived in a farm with access to power, water, telephone and internet. I also brought my business online . While living away from the city I begun to appreciate the advantages of living a simple life and find happiness away from office politics. I found that living in a farm offers a lot better opportunities to earn more, have more time for myself and my business. *************
