The Truth has been granted permission to share another firsthand account of buying a puppy from Augusto. This person has requested anonymity, and we honor that request. We thank them for sharing it with us. The photos show the Health Certificate and the Vet Check for this puppy. Please note the weights of these almost 8 week old puppies, and please read the story X I have a Griffin Shepherd Kennel pup that I purchased in April 2014. I would like to remain anonymous but I would like to get my story out there. I am not a happy buyer. My puppy is from the Sadie/Griffin litter born February 2014. I originally contacted Augusto when I saw him on the German Shepherd Dog Community Group. I informed him I wanted a family companion that could possibly be a show or breeding prospect. He had me place a deposit by check but did not do any type of intensive screening. When the pups were due to be born, I was given basic pedigree information. I asked several questions but never received any answers. When I asked about health testing I was informed that the dogs were “clear by parentage” for DM and hip dysplasia but the dogs themselves were not cleared. Augusto informed me that he did not like testing with anything he considers unnatural, including x-rays, because he felt it would cause cancer. When we brought our pup home, the pup had a severe upper respiratory infection to include leaky eyes and a runny nose. The puppy is now healthy but is terribly tempered. The puppy is anti-social and still isn’t housebroken. The puppy is now 7 months old. My other three were house broken in less than one week. The puppy did begin to grow quickly once we took it home and healed the respiratory infection. When we first arrived to pick up our puppy, my spouse wanted to back out. However, we had already spent about $1000 between traveling and hotel fees to pick up this pup. Upon arrival to Augusto’s home, it took a full 10 minutes for him to answer the door, even though he knew we were already there. There was a dog tied up on the balcony and the rest of his dogs were locked up. The house smelled horrendous. I was supposed to get the pick of the litter but he only brought the one puppy out and handed it over to us. The puppy smelled so horribly that it had to be bathed as soon as we arrived back to the hotel. The vet paperwork we were given showed that our puppy weighed under 5 pounds at 8 weeks of age and did not receive vaccinations or dewormer. The puppy pooped worms a few times on our trip back home with it. The vet paperwork also stated that the puppy needed to be taken to the vet ASAP upon purchase. The puppy had zero socialization and has issues with human attachment. The puppy is very hard headed and stubborn, by far the worst GSD I have ever owned. The puppy continues to bite my kids. I am not one to give up on a dog but I am almost there. I have tried almost everything to get this puppy acclimated to my family but the pup does not seem to care. I wanted to ask Augusto for help but he is so “anti questions about his methods” and I didn’t see the point in trying. Augusto has also not followed up or asked questions once on the puppy. The puppy, now 7 months, weighs approximately 30 pounds. When we picked the puppy up I had a very bad taste in my mouth. I really should have gone with my gut but I didn’t. I have watched the bantering on Facebook from the sidelines for long enough. My spouse is quite agitated as well.
