The Tsukuba International Academy for Sport Studies (TIAS) visited the Tokyo 2020 organising committee this week. 37 students from 21 countries came to our HQ and were briefed on the 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The participants are in Japan for a week to attend TIAS Short programme. “We aim to provide an opportunity for sports professionals in and outside of Japan to meet up, build a network and prepare for Tokyo 2020,” said Hisashi Sonoda, Chairman of TIAS. The TIAS was created as part of Tokyo 2020’s project ‘Sport for Tomorrow.’ Through this programme, Japan hopes to contribute to the development of international sports and reinforce Olympic education around the world. We hope you all enjoyed this session and your time in Japan. Looking forward to seeing you all again in 2020!
