The Tug-of-war---- Part II In a given situation, man uses more of experience than brain; he talks more than he listens, he is boastful, emphasizes his achievements, but ironically he is often irrelevant. That’s when trouble starts. In the same situation, a woman is more focused and makes use of man’s brain without his knowing. This is paradoxical. While he is fishing for compliments, he gets overly involved in wishful thinking; he allows his imagination to run loose; his thinking is overwhelmed by his dreams and aspirations. On the other hand, a woman is a cool thinker. She keeps her dreams to herself and benefits from man’s extravaganza. It often makes me wonder what respect, in terms of reactions and behaviour, is. I think respect is partly fear, partly obligation and partly freedom of expression. Priorities may differ; some may give higher rating to fear; some may give higher rating to obligation and some may make use of freedom of expression to appreciate and acknowledge the wisdom and intelligence of the person whose respect is in question. However, the one who accords higher priority to fear, does so at the cost of his freedom of expression...........to be contd.
