The U.S. Meat Research Center must be radically reformed or closed, and today The New York Times echoed those recommendations in an editorial that damned the cruelty at this taxpayer-funded facility in Nebraska. But instead of addressing this cruelty or other forms of cruelty on factory farms, The Wall Street Journal editorial board continued to sidestep these very obvious moral problems of extreme confinement and to attack animal advocates for their efforts to crack down on systematic abuses.
