The US Government has just denounced Israel calling its attack on a UN shelter as unacceptable and indefensible. To me, it seems as though OUR ELECTED LEADERS are chomping at the bit to criticize Israel for any and everything. The Israeli PM said it best: Israel chooses to defend its children with missiles and Hamas chooses to defend its missiles with children. I suggest that OUR US LEADERS are responsible for ALL OF THE DEATHS on both sides because Hamas realizes that this is the most symPATHETIC US government they will ever be able to work with. Meanwhile, the goals for both sides in a nutshell: Israel - Peace, defend its people, end of hostility. Hamas - Kill all Israelis, sustain an overwhelming number of civilian casualties so as to bend world opinion, turn public opinion against Israel. Blowing up a school will not result in secondary explosions unless there are explosives hidden within the school. Using a UN bomb shelter or a hospital as any sort of military staging point makes it a legal target. Hamas knows this and they are counting on the reaction that Israel is providing, which essentially comes down to 2 horrible choices: 1) Let your people be killed or 2) Fight back. Hamas broke the peace. Hamas is aggressively trying to destroy Israel. Hamas is actively sacrificing its children knowing they will be killed with the notion that the more children that are killed the better the photo-op will be. Hamas is evil. Israel is good. Our government is not only wrong on this one, but culpable for the innocent deaths. By culpable, I mean to say that people are being killed because our government keeps feeding Hamas hope that all they have to do is incur a few hundred more deaths and the US will withdraw support for Israel. Hamas already has mothers in Gaza that have signed their children up to play next to a weapon cache and be that next photo-op. THIS IS DISGRACEFUL AND SO WRONG.
