The USDA wants grocers to invest in smart carts. The “MyCart grocery cart” would be color-coded, physically divided, and have a system installed so that when the shopping cart reaches its healthy “threshold” it would congratulate the customer. What a great idea- Im sure this will work, and we will all be healthier and more productive citizens. I really hope the USDA provides federal funding so these carts make it to every grocer in the country. I owned a grocery cart as a kid for my newspaper routes; a talking shopping cart would not have been an ideal way to start every morning.
