The USF women raced out to a big early lead and made it stick, outlasting Augustana 84-72 for their first ever win at the Elmen Center Friday night in front of 3,104 fans. Taylor Varsho and Laura Johnson had 18 points each for the Cougars (10-7, 6-7 NSIC), while freshman post Sam Knecht had 10 points and 17 rebounds. Since losing seven of eight, the Cougars have won four in a row, and have now pulled even with their rivals in the NSIC standings.
