The Umbrella for Democratic Change has ridiculed the UB Council Chairperson, Parks Tafa, over the decision to ban political affiliation by the student representative council. Speaking to Gabz Fm News this afternoon, UDC Spokesperson, Moeti Mohwasa, said this is just a bitter decision that is meant to advance the interests of the ruling BDP. The University announced this week that they have made a decision to stop the SRC from running its elections and other affairs through political affiliation, saying it divides students. Mohwasa said this decision is an indication that the ruling party is bitter, that the UDC SRC has been leading for more than 2 academic years.
