The UnSelfishness of God...when The Lord raised David up from a shepherd to a king, David was humbled from the loving kindness, tender mercy and faithfulness that our Lord had shown towards him. He had reflected over his life with the prophet and because of His Recognition of the Goodness of God upon his life, he wanted to do something for God to show His appreciation. In his humility of heart, because of the blessings and favor our King had bestowed upon his life, he was moved with determination to Build The Lord a temple. For he wondered in His heart, how could I live in such a beautiful palace, but my Lord (The Ark of the Covenant) be housed in a tent. It caused David to examine himself. But God being so sovereign, demonstrated His unselfishness, and instead of saying David you should have built me a temple before you built your palace. God turned right around and BLESSED HIM! As The Lord was not concerned about a building for the appearance of man, but He wanted to ensure that David had built a temple for the Lord to take residence upon the tablets of his heart. God saw Davids heart and passion to Give God Glory because of all He had done in His life, and The Lord turned right around and demonstrated to David how unselfish His nature is and SPOKE A DIVINE BLESSING OF FAVOR UPON HIS LIFE. In summation it comes down to this; God is so good, so unselfish, and so concerned about our lives, that oftentimes it appears that He takes no concern for His. Although we know that The Lord does not need us, He sovereignly chooses us to take part in the greater plan and picture that establishes a platform of blessing for us. But in the process brings Great Glory to Him. He constantly shows that He will go to great lengths to ensure that we are positioned for greatness even before He is. For He knows as long as we keep Him upon the tablets of our heart, it does not matter what temple we build in the eyes of man, as long as we have made room for Him to take residence in our hearts divine miracles will always take place. Know that The Lord is concerned about you and the affairs of your life, and all shall succeed, not because of how great we are, but how unselfish He is. God chooses us, by grace to fulfill destiny that cannot be denied. Prayer: Lord I thank you for being so unselfish, and for providing all we need according to your riches, glory and honor. For you have truly been great to us and our families and there is nothing that we could ever do to repay you Lord. So today we say thank you, for making us your vessels to used for your glory in the earth and for releasing favor in our lives so many shall know thy Greatness. You are Lord, Alpha and Omega and all starts and ends with you and we are grateful to know not only have you called me, but chosen me for such a time as this to do your good works in the earth. I submit my will to yours and pray for thy faithfulness upon my heart, in order that I can carry out the mission that you have called upon my life. Let it be said when my days are done, that I reverenced you with all honor worthy of calling that represents you and your kingdom. For you Lord are all I need. In Jesus Name. Amen - Coach Mason Scripture: When King David was settled in his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all the surrounding enemies, the king summoned Nathan the prophet. “Look,” David said, “I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of God is out there in a tent!” Nathan replied to the king, “Go ahead and do whatever you have in mind, for the Lord is with you.” But that same night the Lord said to Nathan, “Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord has declared: Are you the one to build a house for me to live in? I have never lived in a house, from the day I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until this very day. I have always moved from one place to another with a tent and a Tabernacle as my dwelling. Yet no matter where I have gone with the Israelites, I have never once complained to Israel’s tribal leaders, the shepherds of my people Israel. I have never asked them, “Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar house?”’ “Now go and say to my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth! And I will provide a homeland for my people Israel, planting them in a secure place where they will never be disturbed. Evil nations won’t oppress them as they’ve done in the past, starting from the time I appointed judges to rule my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies. “‘Furthermore, the Lord declares that he will make a house for you—a dynasty of kings! But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, “Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? Because of your promise and according to your will, you have done all these great things and have made them known to your servant. “How great you are, O Sovereign Lord ! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you! “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, I have been bold enough to pray this prayer to you because you have revealed all this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you—a dynasty of kings!’ For you are God, O Sovereign Lord. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant. (2 Samuel 7:1-11, 15, 18, 21, 22, 27, 28 NLT)
