The Uplifting Word/ Appearance of Jesus after resurrection to Mary. After Jesus arose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person to see him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went to the disciples, who were weeping & grieving , and told them what had happened. But when she told them Jesus was alive & she had seen him, they didn’t believe her. Afterward he appeared in a different form to two of his followers who were walking from Jerusalem into the country. They rushed back to tell the others, but no one believed them.Mark 9-12. Mary was standing outside the tomb crying and as she wept two white robed angels in the tomb asked why she was crying. “Because they have taken away my Lord & I don’t know where they have put him.” she replied. She turned to leave & saw someone standing there. It was Jesus but she did not recognize him & he asked her why she was crying & she asked him if he had taken him away, if so, tell me where you have taken him. “Mary” Jesus said. She turned to him & cried out,”Rabboni(teacher). “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “I have not yet ascended to my Father.. But go tell the brothers that I am ascending to my Father & your father, to my God & your God.” Mary Magdalene found the disciples & told them,”I have seen the lord” & gave them his message. Insight: After Jesus had told them so many times that he would rise again, they could not grasp that he really was risen. Let’s pray that people today will realize that fact.
