The Uplifting Word/Matthew 12 contains Jesus’s disciples accused of breaking the Sabbath by picking corn to eat. When questioned about it, Jesus answered by telling them the priest may work on the sabbath & that He was the Lord of the Sabbath. 2,4-6,8. Jesus heals a man’s deformed hand & was accused of breaking the law of the Sabbath. He told them that the law permitted doing good on the sabbath. The Pharisee began to plot to kill him. 10-14. Jesus healing of a demon possessed man caused the crowd to say it could be Jesus the Messiah & the Pharisee said he healed by a demon. 22-24. Jesus answered by saying”Anyone who is not with me opposes me & is working against me. Every sin & blasphemy can be forgiven except blasphemy(Irreverence against some thing sacred)against the Holy Spirit which cannot be forgiven.” Insight: One man came to earth to do nothing but good & was condemned by those who only claimed to do good.
