The VA Maryland Health Care System is hosting a Veterans Navigating the VA Health Care System Seminar on Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Theater (Building 314) at the Perry Point VA Medical Center, Perry Point, Md. Veterans and their family members can gain valuable information about VA health care eligibility, primary care services, prescription and social work programs, compensation benefits, and the VA My HealtheVet online service. Following the Seminar, Veterans and their family members will have the opportunity any time from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to visit information tables located in the facility’s Gymnasium (Building 314) to meet with VA representatives and ask questions about VA programs and services. If you served in the armed forces and received an honorable discharge, you may qualify for health care benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. VA staff will be available to provide hands-on assistance with completing VA health care applications. Veterans interested in applying for VA health care during this VA Seminar should bring a copy of their discharge paperwork (Form DD-214), a photo ID, and financial information from the previous calendar year. Veterans may complete the VA health care enrollment application at the VA Seminar or they can expedite the process by accessing the application for health benefits (VA Form 10-10EZ) on the VA website at https://1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez/ and bring a printed copy of the form to the VA Seminar.
