The VA has announced some changes to the Fry Scholarship. Currently, the Scholarship pays a benefit equal to the Post-9/11 GI Bill to the children of service members who die in the line of duty after Sept. 10, 2001. Effective January 1, 2015 this benefit is extended to surviving spouses of military personnel who died in the line of duty after September 10, 2001.
