The WC is not a sprint its really a marathon, who thought that these traditional football super powers Brazil, Germany , Argentina & Holland would be the last 4 standing based on their form throughout the tournament. Other than Germany & Hollands early big wins all these teams looked pretty average throughout the group and elimination stages but 1 of these the teams have represented in 15 of the last WC 16 finals. Maybe the parity of the teams have significantly improved but I am still waiting a a performance/team that leaves me rewinding my DVR because of end to end scintillating play. Where I am as familiar with the starting 11 as I am with the guys coming of the bench. Where there is less acting and more resolute play, where the forwards are scoring more goals than the defense, where all positions have adept players that compliment each other instead of a seemingly mediocre bunch with one extremely gifted superstar. I am hoping however that this final 4 will produce 2 extremely memorable i.e. throw everything u got & the kitchen sink, no holds barred games (unfortunately Nehmar wont be participating).
