The WPPA Posted this link this morning. We are asking The Wisconsin Professional Police Association leadership to recognize that true independent oversight of officer-involved fatalities will increase mental health screening and mental health services for police officers. With independent oversight, a Chief who does not take the proper measures in addressing an officers needs will run the risk of an increase in prosecution of their officers and a damaged reputation. More mental fitness training, more therapy (yes, that taboo word), better screening (shift to jobs they can mentally handle) and much more independent oversight (accountiblity). We cannot go wrong with all 4.
