The WWII planes (a B24 Liberator and a B17 Flying Fortress) have been in town this week at Dallas Love Field History of Flight Museum. When I hear the unmistakable rumble of those engines, I run outside to watch as they fly overhead. I look forward to their visit every year to the Flight Museum just so I can witness a little bit of history in the sky, and remember moments like the one in this picture. Today is the final day for their Dallas visit and it is bittersweet watching their final flyovers. I would take Dad down to see the planes while they were in town and listen to him share his memories, as best he could, with us and others. During one of those trips we climbed up inside the B24 together and someone took this picture. As the years rolled on, the Alzheimers continued to take its toll and these opportunities were no longer available to us. Im glad I was able to share this moment with him. I like to remember him this way.
