The Walk.... Ive seen it before and it tugs on my mom heart strings every time. This is the 5th time my daughter has walked into the pre-op for this surgery. Marv has always been at her side, supporting her in all ways only he can. But this time was different. The tumor has been pushing hard against her motor cortex impacting her left side and making walking and using her left arm difficult. The expected exhaustion of having a 2 inch tumor in your brain and associated swelling along with the impact of its position makes the seemingly simple task of walking, require strength, determination and conviction. The normal spring in her step and the Lets get it done spark is far more subtle this time but still there. Her body may not be cooperating, but her strength of spirit is unhindered. This surgery is just another step in a long journey: a necessary step that will make the next step possible. Whatever that will look like, she and Marv continue to dig deep, finding a trust in God that infinitely exceeds the commonness of the words. She is amazing! He is amazing! Its a road no one wants to travel and its harder than anyone can imagine, but she continues to put one foot in front of the other to do it... Even if that foot is not cooperating. Im anxious as always to see her in a few hours and look into those eyes of determination and know she has survived another day, another step and for that we are thankful.
