The West Coast established itself as a Hip-Hop powerhouse in the late 80′s and early 90′s. Artists like Ice-T, N.W.A., DJ Quik, Too Short, Spice 1, Snoop and more were household names, nationwide. That presence has never faded but in the last few years there has been a Cali Renaissance (in both Hip-Hop and R&B) that has yielded as much star power as ever from the Left Coast. Here’s a mix from DJ Max October featuring some of those talents. You’ll hear music from Kendrick Lamar, Y.G., Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies, Schoolboy Q, Tyga, Problem, Jay Rock, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign, Mila J, Frank Ocean and more. You’ll even get a taste of some veteran artists like The Game and E-40, who continue churning out hits. Check out the mix.
