The Wind and the Waves THE WATER OF HIS WORD Read Matthew - TopicsExpress

The Wind and the Waves THE WATER OF HIS WORD Read Matthew 14:22-33. Reread verses 28-33. The disciples’ eyes are opened in a whole new way. What do you think they see? What do you see? When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind stopped. When we are in the midst of a storm, it can feel as though everything is out of control, but we know God’s word says God is Lord of all and Lord over all creation. He is Lord over the wind and the waves. He reigns! Over all! Over everything! You can rest in His love, His care, His protection, and His power in the midst of the raging storm! Are you living accordingly? WALK ON TRUTH Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? If He is God, and Lord of all, do you serve Him as though He is Lord of all? Read Mark 12:28-37 and think it through. Is Jesus truly Lord to you? When the scribes asked Jesus which commandment is the most important of all, how did He answer? Would you be able to say this is true of you? Is it true of the way you live? Our actions say more about what we believe than what we say. Ask the Lord as you pray today to make it so in your life. FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART Quietly recite today’s focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart, meditate on it, and make it your prayer throughout the day. Matthew 14:31-33 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
