The Wisdom of a Lady ~ The light of a thousand angels pours forth in grace to know the wisdom of a lady whom time has called to go But not without a wider sweep of love in turn to trade set in splendor holding strong and never more to fade She was light in form to stand together with us all using words from life at hand to master forth her call She raised the standard of the day set sweet within each heart and molded clay upon her stay to form a brand new start Left are we with tears of stain upon our common good yet words bestowed are not in vain but spark like fired wood Given as a gift to see her words shall linger long through each life set clear to be remembered now in song Formed to fit each soul just right her wisdom holds great stride moving hearts toward higher flight with poetry to ride And we the many now in turn shall focus to prevail past the sadness and the burn toward angel wings to sail The light of a thousand angels pours forth in grace to know the wisdom of a lady whom time has called to go © Amber MacKay 2014 Photograph by Hillel Italie, Associated Press Writer (AP Photo/Nell Redmond, File) Poet, author Maya Angelou dies at 86 (May 28, 2014)
