The Word of God calls us to keep our eyes on Jesus. Jesus is The Word of God who came to live among us in the flesh. He is righteous, He is Holy and when we fix our eyes on Him, our eyes are fixed on Holiness and we work out our salvation in our quest to attain it. We cant have our eyes fixed on a righteous Savior and be living a godless or worldly life. Where your eyes are fixed determines where you are heading and if you have your eyes fixed on a righteous Savior you cant be living an unrighteous life. We cant be looking north and heading south. We head towards our destination and our focus determines our eternal destination. We seriously need to break ourselves away from the patterns of the world, we seriously need to deny ourselves and conform wholly to the examples of living Jesus teaches in His Word. We need to look away from everything the prevents us from our eternal goal. Jesus calls us to be perfect just as our heavenly father is perfect (Matthew 5:48). We need to obey and practice Gods Word to be perfect like God. Practice makes perfect, the more we obey God the more we become like Him. Jesus Christ obeyed all commands of His Father and He has called us to do same and not to continue in our own ways living by our own opinions and interests but to conform wholly to His ways and examples in living and if need be in dying also. Anyone who tells you holiness isnt important doesnt know what they are talking about. Scripture is very clear on this: -Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
