The World Cups back in action tonight with the first of the two semi finals. Todays semi final is: Brazil vs Germany This is the only the second World Cup meeting between the two countries. The very first time the two had met had been the 2002 World Cup final where Brazil beat Germany in the final 2-0, winning the World Cup for a record-extending 5th time. However, this is the first time since 2002 that Brazil have reached the semi-finals of the World Cup. In contrast, Germany, 3-times world champions themselves, have now been semi-finalists at the World Cup for a fourth consecutive time, a new world record. Both teams are similar in strength so it could go either way but Brazil will be missing their captain, Thiago Silva through suspension and their star striker Neymar, the poster boy for this World Cup has now out of the rest of the tournament following an injury sustained in the quarter final victory over Colombia. Germany have had problems as well with reports of up to 7 players being affected by flu-like symptoms. Still, both sides have more than enough quality to make up. Brazil still havent been convincing, a shadow of the side which ruthlessly won last years Confederations Cup but they are passionate and play good, high-intensity football and will have the advantage with home support. The Germans have been efficient throughout despite not always being at their best in this tournament. Will hosts Brazil reach the final or will Germany spoil the party?
