The World Dance Council (W.D.C.) has been inundated with emails concerning allegations of restrictions and illegal bans claimed to have been enforced upon dancers in The Peoples Republic of China. The W.D.C. as with all organizations, cannot and does not respond to unsigned communications. We are therefore unable to even consider the merit of these claims. For the further avoidance of doubt, the person and organization to whom these unsubstantiated claims refer, (Mr. Manfred Wang, and C.B.D.F) are no longer members of the World Dance Council, a status for over 12 calendar months and remaining. This was due to the person and organization concerned not signing up to our policies of Freedom to Dance when the opportunity arose, and also for allegations similar to those currently in circulation. The W.D.C. therefore, whilst passing no judgement on what may well be allegations with no basis whatsoever, wishes to declare that it has no concern nor relationship with any parties in this dispute. The W.D.C. opposes all restrictions placed on any dancers in relation to their freedom to participate as they choose, and reconfirms this position.
