The World I Would Like to Live In I would like to live in a world of inner peace. A world where everyone could feel at peace, regardless of what turmoils are around them. The only way for there to be outer peace is for people to feel inner peace regardless of the situation. If person feels inner peace, they will naturally become a peacemaker because their inner state will reflect into their outer life. It is easy for the ignorant individual to desire other people who have less peace to become forced into the peace they desire for themselves. This is a projection neurosis, and is obvious in religious proselytism and war. Again, the only way to help other people to attain peace is to attain peace for oneself. I would like to live in a world of softness. We have lived in a hard world for thousands of years, but I think we are finally becoming softer. The world is absorbing more of the feminine energy, and it is doing this not by letting women become men or by tuning into nature, but by simply reducing the desire to have violence. Indeed, mass violence is having a final painful fit before it commits suicide and is gone forever. I lived a life of pain and torture, but I think that is ending now. I have plenty of people in my life who are of a softer energy, and I am able to help others become softer by simply being myself. The age of aggression is over. It is no longer acceptable to have one forcefully execute power over another. This was popular once, but has now lost support. We are entering an age where more and more needs of the people will be met. There is a shift from individualism to individuation, from isolationism to social interdependence. Instead of the dream life of living in luxury and treating everything (including people) as a commodity, we are starting to love each other more and meet the needs of everyone. The goal of independence is not to be an isolated individual who does everything for himself without any help from others. Rather, to be independent is to be a responsible and fully functional human being. And we are going to turn into a society where the authority of an individuals decision takes priority over the authority of the social hierarchy. I want to live in a world where everyone treats everyone well, regardless of how they are treated. Hate is an engine that begets only itself, and the engine is dying. I realize that it will be quite some time before I see all of this implemented, but probably sooner than you would think. The only way to make this happen is to become an individual who embraces these principles and becomes this change in the world. I will commit, to the best of my current knowledge and ability, to live out these principles. Spencer McDonald
