The World Youth Rhino Summit was held at iMfolozi Game Reserve this year. Yesterday ZAP Wing (Zululand anti-poaching wing) did an arrest demonstration for the 140 delegates and our Wildlife ACT conservation volunteers were invited to watch. Over 150 people watched as the demonstration was played out on the airstrip in iMfolozi. It began with the sighting of rhino poachers stalking a rhino, then displayed in great detail ZAP Wing’s response from both the ground and the air and finally showed the capture of the poachers. Together the team worked seamlessly to take down the poachers and arrest them in front of their audience. The World Youth Rhino Summit delegates applauded loudly and then they had a chance to ask questions. The ZAP Wing team did a fantastic job! The delegates were also treated to talks by Kingsley Holgate and Dr Ian Player. Overall it was a magnificent experience for all involved. Post and photographs by Megan Wildlife-Act
