The Wulfhall ( Wolfhall) Willow. Today, I visited a place near Savernake, where a great Manor house stood , the vanished Wulfhall. This was the home of Jane Seymour and here the wolf himself came to call . A White Willow at the old pond of Wulfhall was recorded a decade ago as being the second largest in Britain. It was a surprise to find that it was now even larger, for a storm had struck the tree and it had broken into two parts. The tree was still alive and knowing this tree, its huge prone branches will continue to find new life. I climbed up and had a look inside old man willow and found that the bottom of the trunk is now part of the pond .
