The Yemen government was just apparently deposed in a coup, with the Presidential Palace now overun. The American embassy, which has a detachment of 100 marines, remains in the capitol Sanaa, and U.S. officials said yesterday there is no need to evacuate. Jihadists from al Qaeda in Yemen were responsible for the Jan. 7 attack in Paris. U.S. military officials told NBC News last night there was no threat to Americans and it would be more likely and safer for Americans to leave Sanaa on a commercial flight, said one senior U.S. official.
