The Young Naturalists spent Saturday morning (Sep 28) looking for flocks of migrating Sandhill Cranes south of Saskatoon. We saw several small flocks of these large grey birds. We also spotted lots of other birds along the river, along with an amazing crop of Buffalo Berries and the odd wooly Tiger Moth caterpillar. The next Young Naturalists Field Trip is scheduled for Friday, October 4th and 5th when we looking for migrating Northern Saw-whet Owls. Visit the Young Naturalists web page (saskatoonzoosociety.ca/programs/young-naturalists/) for more information on upcoming Young Naturalists programs.
